Women’s Leather Gloves: The Ultimate Glove Sizing Chart

Leather gloves are perfect for women, especially during the colder months. Not only are they comfortable but they’re a fashion accessory that will never go out of style. However, finding the right glove size can sometimes be tricky, especially if purchasing online. In this article, we provide our top sizing tips that all women should keep in mind when buying leather gloves.

Leather Gloves for Women: Finding the Right Size

Here in Canada, there can be a common misconception that winter accessories are to provide function over style - in all cases. But this isn’t true and leather gloves prove this. Not only are women’s leather gloves comfortable and capable of keeping the skin protected from the harsh winter conditions but they’re also extremely stylish.
Leather gloves come in a variety of styles and colours guaranteeing that regardless of your personal style you’ll find a pair that speaks to you. As many of you are aware, online shopping has become a big trend over recent years especially in the fashion industry. Yet, with that comes the risk that the gloves you buy won’t be the right size. So, how can avoid this?
To help you we’ve put together a handy list of sizing tips and a glove sizing chart so that you can find the leather gloves that are made for you.

Comfort is key when it comes to buying a pair of leather gloves. As glove sizing is a little more complicated than you might expect, the first step is to take your hand measurements. Here’s how to do this easily from the comfort of your own home:

    1. Measure around your hand: Using some fabric tape, wrap it around the widest part of your dominant hand. The tape measure should wrap around the top of your hand and across your palm at its widest point. Make sure to exclude the thumb and take note of the size of this part of your hand in either inches or centimetres.
    2. Measure the length of your hand: Hand width is important but so is the length of your hand (unless you’re looking for fingerless gloves, of course). When measuring lengthwise, spread out your fingers and place the tape measures at the tip of your middle finger. Stretch the tape until it reaches the base of your hand and the start of your wrist. Again record the size in inches or centimetres.
    3. Round up the figures: Once you have recorded both of those figures, take the largest figure and round it up. For example, if the width of your hand measures 5.5 inches but the length of your hand measures 6.75 inches, round this number up to a 7 and your leather glove size would be a medium.
